About
Osteopathic Treatment
Treatment is hands-on and involves skilled manipulation of the spine and joints, and massage of soft tissues.
I will explain what I am doing and will always ask your permission to treat you (known as consent). You can ask questions at any time, if you are unsure of what you have been told or if you have any concerns.’
Osteopathy
How it Works
Step 1: Initial Appointment
I will take a detailed case history to assess your current health, other medical care you are receiving or medication you are taking, and record this in your case notes. The information you provide will be confidential.
Step 2: Examination
An examination will then be undertaken of your posture and you will be asked to actively undertake some simple movements in order to assess freedom and range of movement.
Removal of some clothing will aid the examination. However do not be concerned as I will only ask you to undress to a level that you are comfortable with and you will have privacy. If you wish, you can ask a friend or relative to accompany you during treatment.
Further orthopaedic , neurological or circulatory tests may be required before leading to diagnosis and treatment.
Following examination I will give you a clear explanation of what I have found (my diagnosis), and discuss a treatment plan that is suitable for you, which may include lifestyle changes. I will explain the benefits from treatment I am recommending.
Step 3: Post Treatment
Due to the physical nature of the treatment, it is not unusual to sometimes feel sore or stiff in the first 24–48 hours after treatment. I will explain any likely reactions that you could expect. If you have any concerns, it is important to contact me and ask my advice.
It may require more than one visit before your problem is resolved. I will review your progress at each subsequent visit and seek your consent to any changes to your treatment plan.
I will also prescribe exercises and stretches to aid your. recovery as appropriate

About
The Molesey Clinic
The Molesey Clinic is in my family home in Nightingale Road, West Molesey. I have a purpose built practice at the end of the garden; it is a small practice and I aim to offer a friendly and personal service to all my patients.
It also has the advantage as the site for my wife’s one to one Pilates classes using the latest Reformer equipment giving tuition from beginners to advanced. Pilates is an exercise form widely recommended for postural strengthening and rehabilitation and as a team, we have had great success in ‘turning the corner’ for our patients’ musculoskeletal problems.

Health Care Insurance
I am registered with major healthcare insurers including BUPA. Please check with your provider as to what their individual requirements are for Osteopathic treatment.
Prior to treatment please check with your provider that your policy covers Osteopathy, also the sum and number of treatments remaining within the current year, and any excess that may apply.
You will need to provide your policy number, and most providers also require a referral letter from a GP.
In order for you to claim you will be provided with an invoice and any necessary forms completed by the clinic. You can then submit them to your insurance company for a rebate.
